Question 1

How long does a campervan carpentry job take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the scope. A bespoke kitchen on its own is quicker than a full interior fit-out. After an initial discussion I can give you a realistic timeline at estimate stage.

Question 2

Where is JW Camper Carpentry based?

Accepted Answer

I am based in Horsham, West Sussex, United Kingdom. Within easy reach of Brighton, London and most of the south coast.

Question 3

How much does bespoke campervan carpentry cost?

Accepted Answer

Every job is different so prices vary with the scope, materials and how much carpentry is involved. After I understand what you need I will put together a clear estimate up front with no hidden extras.

Question 4

Can I bring my own design ideas?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that is exactly how a bespoke job works. Bring sketches, photos or Pinterest boards. I can offer practical advice on the design, layout and materials based on what you want and how you plan to use your van. This is practical guidance, not a full design or 3D drawing service.

Question 5

What vans do you work on?

Accepted Answer

I have worked on Fiat Ducato, Citroën Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Mercedes Sprinter, Ford Transit, VW Crafter and similar large panel vans. Smaller bases including VW Transporter and Ford Custom are also catered for.

Question 6

Do you handle electrics, gas and plumbing?

Accepted Answer

No — I focus on carpentry and woodwork installation. Customers normally have a self-build project already underway and bring me in for the carpentry side: ply-lining, kitchens, beds, bathrooms, storage and cabinetry. Electrics, gas and plumbing are handled by the customer or their own specialists.

Question 7

Do you do start-to-finish van builds?

Accepted Answer

No. Most of my work is partial conversions — joining existing self-build projects to handle the woodwork side. That might be a kitchen, beds, ply-lining, bathroom carpentry, storage, or finishing off the interior of a build that is already underway.

Question 8

Can you build trailers and teardrop campers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I have built custom teardrop trailers from scratch and can do carpentry work on existing trailer projects too.
